Our Story
Customer traction
Market Launch
We moved to our own facilities in Radeberg. DIVE's in-house developed system solution VEpioneer and the module solution VEreveal were launched to the markets, together with the VEsolve software. Complementary services provide pre-sales guidance and customisation as well as after-sales support.
Founding
DIVE imaging systems GmbH
The DIVE imaging systems GmbH was founded in January 2023. The acronym DIVE stands for ‘digital vision experts’. In the same year we won the 3rd prize in futureSAX business plan competition as youngest company and team, we applied successfully for the WECONOMY coaching and won a design prize for our VEpioneer® solution. Funding was provided through a business-angel pre-seed round.

Transfer
Starting the Start-up
The founding team got together. We strategically chose the EXIST Technology Transfer program, funded by the BMWK, as the ideal pathway for our spin-off. Since the launch of the EXIST I program in October 2022, we have dedicated all our expertise and energy to advancing this venture.
Decision
The founding Idea
Through the development of multiple systems, we gained valuable insights and expertise. Along the way, a key question emerged: How should we advance this promising technology? This led to the decision to pursue a spin-off from Fraunhofer.

Prototype
First Hyperspectral Vision system
Following extensive development, we built our first prototype of a Hyperspectral Vision system at the labs at Fraunhofer IWS. While it wasn't as refined as today’s standards, it provided a strong foundation for our ongoing innovation.
Beginning
Exploring Hyperspectral Imaging
In 2012, we acquired our first two hyperspectral imagers in Fraunhofer IWS, one for VNIR and one for SWIR. However, it quickly became clear that the initial starter kits were not the optimal choice for our needs. We had to build our own solution.
