Why do we need a GreenICT Project?

The Research Fab Microelectronics Germany (FMD for its acronym in German) has established the "Green ICT @ FMD" competence center to implement the German government's Green ICT mission. The aim is to promote the ecologically sustainable development of ICT based on FMD services, structures, and expertise for application-oriented research in microelectronics.

Information and communication technology (ICT) refers to technology that is used to collecting, storing, transmitting and processing data and information. This technology includes notebooks, smartphones, tablets, televisions, and networks.

Why does DIVE participate in the GreenICT project?

GreenICT supports resource-saving product development at an early stage. Through GreenICT, DIVE gains insights into the environmental footprint of its solutions and the environmental impact of its solutions in manufacturing. Further, DIVE has access to clean rooms to test its technologies.
